~How Ranks Work~ It is loosely based on the Warriors series system of ranks and names, adopted to wolves. In that system, hunting and fighting is shared in one rank called warriors. In the system I made, Hunters and Fighters are specialized. The healer (called medicine cat in warriors) is called the Shaman. Young ones are pups until they start training, then they are apprenticed to a hunter or fighter, maybe even the Shaman if they want to become one. The beta is sort of the deputy for the pack, and second in command to the Alpha, the leader. Now, in Warriors, leaders are given nine lives to lead their pack. (cool, huh?) But in this system that would be weird, as they are not cats. So, instead they get a power to bring out their pack's unique abilities, such as stealth, speed, strength, smarts, or some thing else (that also happens to start with S, lol). In the Warriors system, Elders have their normal names, and are honored with their warrior name they earned. In this system it is similar, yet they are referred to as a Wise One, and treated as such.

~How Namings Work~ Never read the Warriors? Here's how naming works: A warrior name has two parts, the sort of surname they have their whole life, and their rank name. For example:
A pup is born. It's mother (or father!) gave it the surname Hazel, so it is called Hazelpup. When it becomes an apprentice, the name ends in paw, hence Hazelpaw. But when it becomes a full hunter or fighter, it receives the honor of gaining a unique name ending, such as Hazelclaw, or Hazeltail, but it could be more creative, such as Hazelfeather or Hazelheart. You see, using many different name beginnings and endings make really cool-sounding names, as well as giving insight into character. There are almost infinite possibilities with this. Continuing, Hazel-whatever is now a full fighter/hunter. But what about the other ranks? Well, let's say if they became shaman, well, no big deal there, the name stays the same. But, if they were a super loyal beta and became leader (Alpha!), their name would end in howl (Hazelhowl), and they would receive an awesome power!! And even more, if, at the end of their journey, they settle down and retire, they would reclaim their old name, although leaders retiring doesn't happen too often...

~Pictures~ They can be real wolf pics, drawn, I don't really care, as long as it is not huge and too unrealistic, (such as bright, neon green crescent moons, and while you're at it, some rainbow polka dots!!) Anyways, yeah, no winged wolves or spike collars or clothes or anything fancy like that, either, kay?? I have a pack for that, and that's Starpack and Nightpack. Things accepted are like scars, some odd coloration is allowed, though.
